The Dio - Dining & Entertainment, Livingston County's professional, award winning dinner theatre, is very excited to present the Southeast Michigan professional premier of Christopher D'Arenzio's Broadway hit musical comedy, ROCK OF AGES, directed by Steve DeBruyne with musical direction by Brian Rose and choreography by Kristin Renee Reeves.

It's the tail end of the big, bad 1980s in Hollywood, and the party has been raging hard. Aqua Net, Lycra, lace and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strips last legendary venues, a place where sex machine Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and scantily clad groupies line up to turn their fantasies into reality. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherrie, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes). But the rock and roll fairy-tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherri and the gang save the strip-and themselves-before it's too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more hold the answer.

ROCK OF AGES takes you back to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! This Tony Award nominated Broadway musical ran for over 2000 performances, and was called "Impossible to resist" by The New York Times. During its five years on Broadway, ROCK OF AGES featured performances from stage and television stars alike! Now, fresh from the Broadway closing last year, you can catch this hilarious, head banging musical at The Dio!

The cast of ROCK OF AGES features performances by Greg Bailey, Brian E. Buckner, Molly Cunningham, Steve DeBruyne, Elizabeth Jaffe, Christopher Kamm, Thomas Mate, Dan Morrison, Nick Pettengill, Sean Patrick Philibin, Kristin Renee Reeves, Tori Rogers, Jared Schneider, Natalie Rose Sevick and Linzi Joy Thomas.

All tickets include The Dio's dinner buffet, a non-alcoholic beverage, dessert and the show. The menu for ROCK OF AGES will include fresh, homemade bread sticks, house salad with choice of dressing, a spring vegetable medley sautéed in garlic butter, a vegetarian pasta including mushrooms, spinach and sundried tomatoes in a sherry cream sauce, broiled cod loins topped with citrus parmesan bread crumbs, and The Dio's signature boneless chicken breast, hand battered and fried to a golden brown.

Performances take place at The Dio, 177 E. Main Street, Pinckney Michigan, 48169 from April 15 through May 22, Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. There will be one Thursday evening performance on April 14, and one Thursday matinee on May 19.

Join us for a special night of music on Thursday, May 12 at 7:00, as the cast of ROCK OF AGES sings some of their favorite songs from Broadway and beyond in a cabaret style concert we're calling, "Nothin' But A Good Time". This night of special performances will serve as a fundraiser for The Dio, with all proceeds going to support the remainder of our 2016 theatre season. Tickets to this special event are only $25 and include non-alcoholic beverages and dessert.

Tickets for all performances are available now and may be purchased by visiting diotheatre.com or by calling (517) 672-6009. Shows are already selling out so consider making your reservations well in advance.
