Mt. Clemens, MI- Puzzle Piece Theatre begins its first full season with Lanford Wilson's evocative love story Talley's Folly. The play was the winner of the Pulitzer prize in Drama and the New York Critics Circle award for best play in 1980. Puzzle Piece's revival will take place at The Box Theater located at 90 Macomb Place Mt. Clemens, MI in the heart of downtown. The production will play October 11th-27th with performances taking place Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm and Sunday afternoons at 2pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the theatre's website www.puzzlestage.org or reservations can be placed by calling the theatre at 313-303-8019.

Written by one of America's foremost playwrights, Talley's Folly will touch the heart. The country is at war and climbing out of economic hardship, it is July 4th 1944 and Matt Freidman, a 42-year-old Jewish accountant, travels to rural Lebanon, MO to woo 31-year-old small town Protestant girl Sally Talley. Together, under the moonlight in a remote old boathouse, this unlikely pair considers the unpredictable waltz of romance. Lanford Wilson's valentine of play receives an intimate revival by Puzzle Piece Theatre's and stars acclaimed Michigan actors Katie Galazka and Samer Ajluni. The duo's resumes include nominations for Michigan's major theatrical awards- Wilde, Detroit Free Press, and numerous Rogue Gallery entries. The production is directed by Puzzle Piece's Producing Artistic Director D.B. Schroeder.

"The two characters in the poignant script face barriers, both real and imagined, from outside sources and internal conflict. The world of the play in the 1940s has the country facing similar issues as we do today. Matt and Sally are two outsiders risking it all for each other" offers Schroeder. "I know audiences will sympathize and relate to their quest for acceptance and love." Join us as we continue, in the words of Encoremichigan's Dana Casadei, "bringing a whole new perspective to the Detroit arts community."-6/20/12

Puzzle Piece Theatre serves the community by bringing to life a wide variety of theatrical texts through storytelling that re-imagines what is possible in live performance.
