Pontiac Theatre IV presents Arthur Miller's The Crucible as the third production of the 2013-2014 season March 21-29, 2014 at Pontiac High School. The Crucible is set during the infamous witch trials of Salem, Mass., and was originally written as an allegory of 1950's McCarthyism. With overarching themes and exploration of intolerance, hysteria, and corruption within a community, the Tony award-winning play remains widely relevant and respected to this day.

Tickets for the show are $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors. Attendees may also bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Gleaners Community Food Bank for $2 off their ticket (one discount per ticket). The show is general admission and tickets will be available at the door.

A talented cast of twenty will bring this classic to life: Jeff Berndt, Michaelangelo Burt, Estevan Contreras, Matthew Cross, Steve Cunningham, Dwaine Estes, Lillie Ferrell, Rebecca Gloden, Chuck Goddeeris, Sean Harbert, Janet Jimenez, Peyton Lenderman, Linda Mischler, Nancy Mitchell, Maria Moyet Bermudez, Michael Nunley, Kelly Russell, Daina Schippers, Jen Talas, and Scott Talas. AmandaJane Schade Rhodes directs with a creative minimalist approach while John Tonner produces.

Pontiac Theatre IV began as a summer venture in 1969 with what was then the Pontiac Parks and Recreation Department (now Community and Human Services) of the City of Pontiac. In 1973, the group decided to become an independent community theater company separate from the Pontiac Parks and Recreation Department. Because the department had provided sponsorship for four years, the group elected to take the name Pontiac Theatre IV. Over the years we have enjoyed the support of local business and industry, the Pontiac schools, and the City of Pontiac, which still provides space for storage and rehearsals. As a community theatre, we welcome the participation of all interested people.
