Planet Ant will bring works by five local playwrights to the stage this April in Dark Night, an anthology of the best scripts from the theatre's Ant Farm series. Tickets ($10) are on sale now for performances April 4-19. A complete schedule follows this release.

Dark Night is an anthology of Planet Ant's favorite short play submissions to The Ant Farm, a quarterly reading of original work by local playwrights. The popular program allows playwrights to hear local actors read their words and see audience reactions concluding with an audience talk-back session. For the past three years, Planet Ant has selected several audience favorites and compiled them into one late-night presentation. In this year's show, titled Dark Night, director Sara Catheryn Wolf will helm a cast of seven actors performing in five original works including: A Nice Place To Visit by Dave Davies; Marielle by Maggie Patton; A Case of the Mondays by Mike McGettigan; Dark Corners by Sean Paraventi; and Restaurant Bill by Marty Shea and Ian Bonner. Dark Night will feature David Angus (Detroit), Zach Hendrickson (Ann Arbor), Phillip J Hughes (Warren), DeAnnah Kleitz-Singleton (Biloxi, MS), Katy Kujala (Novi), Patrick O'Connor Cronin (Bloomfield Hills) and Jaclyn Strez (Dearborn) with stage management by Jaclynn Cherry. Tickets ($10) are on sale now for performances at 9:00pm Friday & Saturday evenings April 4 through 19.

Late Night Saturdays & Improv Mondays

Throughout this season Planet Ant presents a late night Saturday show featuring a rotating schedule of improvisation. Tickets are $5 at the door.

The Planet Ant Improv Colony has generated over twenty original comedies and continues to perform every Monday night in Michigan's longest-running improv comedy show - Improv Mondays. At 8:00 pm the show kicks off with a guest improv troupe followed by a performance by Planet Ant's resident Home Team. The night closes with The Ant Jam, an opportunity for anyone to improvise on the Planet Ant stage. Tickets are $5 at the door.
