Planet Ant Theatre continues their high-speed 25th season with another installment of the new Black Box Double Feature Series. The holiday block features two all-original one-acts guaranteed to lighten hearts & lift spirits this holiday season.

The Black Box Double Feature Series is part of Planet Ant Theatre's 25th Anniversary Season, celebrating twenty-five years of live entertainment and art in metro Detroit. The series offers two, all-original, one-act comedy shows in a tight, three-week run - the inspiration behind such a vigorous schedule coming in response to the outpouring of talent in Detroit's ever-growing creative community.

The Holiday Double Feature presents "Toys for Toxic" and "Thaw & Order" - two sketch comedy revues from the collective talent of Planet Ant favorites both old and new:

"Toys for Toxic" is a collection of original comedic sketches showcasing the work of writers developed within the Planet Ant Training Center Sketch Writing Program: Chris Adams, Clarence Ford, Brendan McCarthy, and Mark Moehlig. The one-act is directed by Planet Ant Home Team Member, Training Center Instructor, and Wilde-Award winning actor Lauren Bickers; and features Lauren Duprey, Joe Gaskill, Phil Leslie, Esther Nevarez, Jeff Smyk, and Betsy Soukup.

"We poke fun at an array of subjects including Amazon, gentrification and the holidays," said Bickers.

"Thaw & Order" presents a series of sketches written by various contributors within the Planet Ant community, and marks the directorial debut for Planet Ant Farm Team Member Michael Duprey. The one-act features Molly Alampi, Mitch Haba, Kate Holmes, Nick Latimer, Michelle Pytelski, and Ryan Westbrook.

"Frosty's been thawed," said Duprey. "Find out whodunit and unravel more Holiday mysteries like the invention of Christmas by the Roman Catholic Church, the consequences of kissing Santa Claus, and whatever happened to Kevin McAllister from Home Alone!"

Planet Ant Theatre's Holiday Double Feature opens Friday, November 30th and runs through December 15th; with Friday and Saturday performances at 8pm and one Sunday matinee on December 9th at 6pm. Opening night and Sunday performances are half-off. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at planetant.com (includes online service fee) or at the box office, open thirty minutes prior to showtime.
