Best known for putting on cutting edge theatre productions The Ringwald ventures into the world of film with a screening of the award winning documentary film Life in Green: The WAMM Movie. Life in Green follows members of the Wo/Men''s Alliance for Medical Marijuana (WAMM) as they battle the federal government for the right to use marijuana as a medicine to treat disease and face end of life with dignity and celebration. Shot over five years in Santa Cruz, California, Life in Green shows the world through WAMM's eyes. Scroll down for a sneak peek at some stills from the film!

Filmmakers Charlie Hall and Bevin Bell-Hall will be in the audience this April 20th as Life in Green makes its Michigan debut at The Ringwald Theatre for one show only. The film premiered at the Santa Cruz Film Festival in 2010 and was awarded the Audience Award for Best Documentary and was given a 4 star rating by High Times Medical Marijuana Review who described it as "A sensitive portrait of patients and activists."

"This film has been and will continue to be a grassroots project with a highly-debated subject matter," says filmmaker Bevin Bell-Hall who is currently earning her MFA in Theatre from Wayne State University. "...to make it we relied on a lot of volunteer time and small donations from friends and family and now we strive to expand that support base as we screen the film to communities and groups that have a need or desire for it. We believe strongly in the film and it''s message, and our amazing group of supporters believe in it as well."

Life in Green: The WAMM Movie screens once only Sunday, April 20th. In the lobby there will be information on medical marijuana from local organizations and a special 4/20 movie concessions counter as well as a raffle for super fun prizes that range from DVDs to the coveted reserved couch seating in the theater. Tickets are available at the box office the day of the show. The Ringwald box office opens 45 minutes before performances and tickets can be purchased with cash or Visa/Mastercard.
