The historic Gem Theatre presents Plaid Tidings, a special holiday sequel to the critically acclaimed Forever Plaid. The Gem will feature 49 performances of Plaid Tidings, November 10 through December 31, 2010. Tickets are on sale now!

In this holiday sequel, the four Plaids -- Frankie (Bradley Beahan), Sparky (Jared Gertner), Jinx (Scott Barnhardt) and Smudge (Kevin Vortmann) -- are back again, from the great beyond. The quartet continues its supernatural journey, which began February 1964 when the Plaids, a semi-professional harmony group, was on their way to their first big gig.

While driving a cherry-red 1954 Mercury convertible, the Plaids were slammed broadside by a school bus filled with eager Catholic teens on their way to witness the Beatles make their U.S. television debut on the Ed Sullivan show. Miraculously, the teens escaped uninjured. The harmony group, however, was instantly killed.

In the original Forever Plaid, a little luck and a miraculous hole in the ozone layer allowed the boys to return to earth 20 years later to perform their final show. The Plaids then went back to heaven to keep harmonial balance. Until now...

In 2010, the boys return to the Gem Theatre in Detroit, though they aren't sure why. With help from friends like Rosemary Clooney, the Plaids unearth long forgotten dreams that bring holiday harmony to a discordant world in Plaid Tidings. Featuring a host of holiday music, including a new holiday classic written for the show, the Plaids deliver a hilarious and heartwarming performance that's truly heaven-sent.

Plaid Tidings was conceived by Forever Plaid creator Stewart Ross and originally premiered at the Pasadena Playhouse in California and has since had successful performances across the country.
