Performance Network Theatre announces the extended performances of Tennessee Williams' Great American Classic, The Glass Menagerie, November 1-4, 2012 with 2-for-$40 tickets and 2-for-$20 for students/seniors on November 1 and November 3 performances (discount available ONLY by calling the box office at 734-663-0681). Performance Network has proven The Glass Menagerie to remain relevant and prevalent for audiences and has received endless raves from patrons and critics.

"All four actors do great justice to Williams' gorgeous, poetic prose. And root though you might for a different outcome, the story will inevitably break your heart all over again - in the very best, most satisfying way possible," said Jen McKee of AnnArbor.com.

Making her first acting appearance in five years, Associate Artistic Director, Carla Milarch graces the stage with a performance that shatters preconceived opinions on the overbearing character, Amanda Wingfield. "And what a comeback it is; she provides a captivating performance from start to finish," said Angie Lai of the Chelsea Patch.

"The Glass Menagerie is a revered American classic, but that doesn't deter Ann Arbor's Performance Network Theatre from doing some experimenting in its bold, evocative reading of the Tennessee Williams drama," said John Monaghan of Detroit Free Press. Director and Performance Network Associate Artist, Tim Rhoze, crafted an "other-wordly" concept for a traditional American Classic. Typically, The Glass Menagerie takes place in a conventional household setting. Instead, Rhoze and set designer, Monika Essen experimented with crooked footbridges amongst lace curtains and pantomimed props to augment the concept of a "memory play". "I think, even six-feet under, Williams is grinning as people try to produce his plays," said Rhoze.

Performance Network invites Southeastern Michigan to be engaged, challenged, and inspired by the final performances of The Glass Menagerie at Ann Arbor's only professional theatre. "At once dreamlike and harshly realistic, musical in language, memorable in character, The Glass Menagerie endures, and Performance Network's production gives it the breath of life," said Martin F. Kohn of Encore Michigan

Tickets can be ordered at the Performance Network Box Office at 734-663-0681, online at
www.performancenetwork.org or at Performance Network Theatre (120 East Huron St., Ann Arbor, 48104) Monday-Saturday 11-6 or one hour before a performance.
