The Dio - Dining & Entertainment, Livingston County's professional, award winning dinner theatre, is very excited to present the 2001 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play, Proof by David Auburn, directed by Steve DeBruyne.

On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's, who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness-or genius-will she inherit? Proof contains strong language and is intended for adult audiences only.

The cast of Proof features performances by Esther Jentzen as Catherine, Dan Morrison as Robert, Tristan Rewald as Hal, and Molly Cunningham as Claire.

All tickets include The Dio's dinner buffet, a non-alcoholic beverage, dessert and the show. The menu for Proof will include fresh Asian slaw, spring rolls, fresh vegetables and lo mein noodles tossed in a soy ginger sauce, homemade fried rice with vegetables, fresh broccoli tossed in our homemade honey garlic sauce sautéed to perfection, and tempura battered pork or chicken fried golden brown and served with classic sweet and sour sauce.

Performances take place at The Dio, 177 E. Main Street, Pinckney Michigan, 48169 from February 5 through March 13, Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. There will be one Thursday evening preview performance on Thursday, February 4 at a discounted price, and one Thursday matinee on March 10.
