Ann Arbor's Performance Network Theatre presents its second annual Dreamcast fundraiser - a lively evening of entertainment and bidding to support Ann Arbor's professional theatre at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 11 2014. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased online at performancenetwork.org/dreamcast or by calling 734-663-0681.

Dreamcast is a unique fundraiser in which Performance Network artists perform their dream monologue or song. It is up to the audience to complete the picture by raising their paddle to make a donation and add the costumes, lights, or props necessary to keep the performance alive. Each donation enters the bidders into a raffle for a selection of prizes at the end of the show.

Only half of Performance Network's operating costs are covered by ticket sales. The other 50 percent is provided by donations. The fundraiser stars Linda Rabin Hammell, R. MacKenzie Lewis, Marissa Kurtzhals, Pete Podolski, Adrienne Pisoni, Phil Simmons and hosted by Aral Gribble and Performance Network's Artistic Director, David Wolber.

"This event is an opportunity for our artists to explore their dreams and for our audience to go along for the ride! With support from The Ravens Club, who will be offering a complimentary craft cocktail spread, we are sure to have one of the best nights of live theatre in Ann Arbor!" said Logan Ricket, Performance Network's Associate Development Director.

All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to the operating costs of Michigan's most award-winning theatre. Performance Network Theatre is one of the Arts and Culture Organizations that contributes to the $344,665,264 economic impact on Southeastern Michigan. Donations support the Michigan creative economy, providing jobs and artistic integrity to the area.

Founded in 1981, Performance Network Theatre has grown from a fledgling company to Ann Arbor's resident, professional theatre. The Network reaches 40,000 theatre patrons and children each year through the year-round Professional Series and the Children's Theatre Network. Performance Network also presents the Fireside New Play Festival and a series of classes on theatre related topics. The Network provides uncompromising artistic leadership in the region and produces works that engage, challenge and inspire audiences and artists.
