Performance Network Theatre presents A FEMININE ENDING, Sarah Treem's quirky, surprising comedy about a young musician's bumpy road to self-discovery, hot from its New York premiere at Playwrights Horizons. Starring Inga Wilson, (Taking Leave), John Seibert (Summer in Smoke, Fuddy Meers, A Doll's House, The Baker's Wife), Terry Heck (Language Lessons, Necessary Targets), Brian Thibault (The Baker's Wife) and Will Myers. Directed by Joseph Zettelmaier (A Streetcar Named Desire). The show opens in previews March 5 and runs through April 5, 2009.

"If I had known, as a child, that EVERYTHING has a sex, I would not have wasted so much time trying to be a famous composer," says Amanda Blue. The extraordinary life she'd imagined has turned into composing advertising jingles and her engagement to a newly minted rock star may not be the fairytale it seems. A crisis in her parents' marriage and a run-in with her first love makes her re-examine her path and decide if she wants the safe life that seems mapped out for her... or to take a chance on something more.

Treem was just 25 when she wrote A FEMININE ENDING. She says, "I think there's a moment in your mid-20s when you see The Life that you want and you have no idea how you could possibly get there. ...that's where I think Amanda is in this play. The whole play is leading up to the decision to go forward and be an adult."

Sarah Treem's plays have been developed at the Bloomington Playwrights Project, South Coast Repertory, Portland Center Stage, Playwrights Horizons, Primary Stages and Manhattan Theater Club. She also teaches playwriting at Yale University and writes for the HBO drama "In Treatment."
