The intimate 420-seat City Theatre is located inside Hockeytown Café and at the heart of Detroit's sports and entertainment district, providing guests the opportunity to take advantage of many walkable restaurants for pre or post show dinner and drinks, making for a full entertainment experience.

The hilariously, bloody tradition continues this fall as Evil Dead: The Musical (Thursday, Oct. 1- Saturday, Oct. 31) enters its sixth season performing at the City Theatre. Based on
Sam Raimi's 80's cult classic films, the musical unearths the old familiar story: boy and friends take a weekend getaway at abandoned cabin, boy expects to get lucky, boy unleashes ancient evil spirit, friends turn into Candarian Demons, boy fights until dawn to survive.
Detroit couples are sure to roar again with laughter, share knowing glances, and ask "Could comedy give couples therapy a run for its money?" With hilarious insight on contemporary feminism, masculine sensitivity and the erogenous zones, Defending the Caveman (Thursday, Nov. 12- Sunday, Nov. 15) will once again mine the common themes in relationships that go straight to the funny bone while warming the heart during its return engagement at the City Theatre.
Fancy Nancy: Splendiferous Christmas (Friday, Nov. 20 - Sunday, Nov. 22) is based on the New York Times bestselling picture book by Jane O'Connor and illustrated by
Robin Preiss Glasser. Families will join Nancy in a very fancy Christmas celebration. This year, Nancy is especially excited. She bought a brand-new sparkly tree topper with her own money and can't wait to decorate the Christmas tree. But when things don't turn out the way Nancy planned, will Christmas still be splendiferous?
It's "CSI: Bethlehem" in Sister's Christmas Catechism: Search for the Magi's Gold (Thursday, Dec. 10-Sunday, Dec. 13) as Sister takes on the mystery that has intrigued historians throughout the ages - whatever happened to the Magi's gold? ("We know that Mary used the frankincense and myrrh as a sort of potpourri - they were in a barn after all.") Retelling the story of the nativity, as only Sister can, this hilarious holiday production is bound to become a yearly classic. Employing her own scientific tools, assisted by a local choir as well as a gaggle of audience members, Sister creates a living nativity unlike any you've ever seen.
Girls Night: The Musical (Thursday, Jan. 14- Sunday, Jan. 17) is the hilarious, touching tale returning to the City Theatre that follows five friends-Carol, the party girl; Anita who tells it like it is, Liza stuck in marital and emotional downfall; Kate, the prissy designated driver and Sharon the "not-so-nice" nice girl-all in their 30s and 40s during a wild and outrageous girls night out at a karaoke bar. Together, they reminisce about their younger days, celebrate their current lives and look to the future, all the while belting out an array of classic anthems such as "I Will Survive," "Lady Marmalade," "It's Raining Men," "Man I Feel Like a Woman," and "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." -OLYMPIA-
