OU Provost and Guitarist to Perform at Meadow Brook Hall This Summer

Summer sizzles at Meadow Brook with live cool concerts at The Great Estate featuring local musicians. The evening includes light hors d'oeuvres, cash bar and a main floor self-guided tour of The Hall.

Admission is $30 per person. Reservations are required. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. and conclude at 10 p.m.


Concert Series line-up:

July 7 - Dave Bennett Band

Dave Bennett is a multi-instrument sensation. He's a clarinet expert who also plays the electric guitar, piano, drums and vocalizes. He has covered music from the Swing Era to early Rockabilly and Country, to Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and more. Dave has been featured on NPR Radio's "Jazz at Riverwalk" and performs at The Grand Hotel Jazz Weekend every Labor Day on Mackinac Island.

July 14 - The Lentini Duo

The Lentini Duo is a husband and wife collaboration featuring classical guitarist and composer James Lentini and lyric soprano Dana Lentini.

James Lentini's works have been performed by distinguished solo artists such as guitarist William Kanengiser as well as Members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. He is currently the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at Oakland University.

Dana Lentini has performed a number of leading roles with opera companies. She has also appeared as a featured soloist with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, Livonia Symphony, Dearborn Symphony, Oakland University Symphony, and with the Wayne State University Symphonic Chorus and Orchestra.

August 18 - Sheryl Martin

Sheryl Martin is an international jazz vocalist and native of Detroit. As a jazz artist, Sheryl has appeared in performances with: Kirk Lightsey, Tony Scott, and Jerry Gonzalez. Sheryl has also performed at Macomb Center for the Performing Arts with the Motor City Symphony Orchestra. Also an actress and dancer, Ms. Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater from Michigan State University.
