Performance Network's Northern Writer's Project is a weeklong playwriting intensive running August 31 to September 5, 2015 where four plays are workshopped with playwrights, directors, actors and audience.
There will be a full week of rehearsal for each play leading to two public readings of each play with a talkback after each reading.
Submissions for the Project will be accepted through July 1, 2015, and local playwrights are encouraged to submit their work.

The Northern Writer's Project will give playwrights a chance to develop their plays more thoroughly while showcasing their talent.
"The Northern Writer's Project is our version of what we would like to see in a playwriting festival," said Performance Network Artistic Director Suzi Regan. "Being able to workshop new plays is invaluable to a playwright. When you write a play you are very vulnerable and protective of that work, so getting feedback from actors and audience members helps you to shape your work and step outside your protective skin to really create something of value."
Plays with small casts of one to four people are ideal, but all cast sizes will be considered. The deadline to submit plays is July 1, 2015.
