The Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra's Casual Classics ~ Uncork & Unwind series continues with its second concert, Selections from Sweeney Todd, on Thursday, July 7, 6:00pm at the Heritage Museum & Cultural Center in St. Joseph, MI. Guest artists NighBlue Performing Arts Company will captivate audiences in an evening of several Tony-award winning Broadway shows, with particular focus on Stephen Sondheim and his music from Sweeney Todd.
"After the success of "Selections from RENT" for the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra's Around the Town series last February, NightBlue is thrilled to present "Selections from Sweeney Todd" with the SMSO", said Artistic Director David Walters. "The first of two partnerships this year, we will bring pieces of Stephen Sondheim's classic musical to life and include some of our most popular Broadway pieces as well."

NightBlue Performing Arts Company is a Chicago-based performing arts company who is committed to bringing an annual line-up of quality shows featuring multiple disciplines of its talented artists. Its mission is to seek emotional honesty on the stage and to empower a diverse group of actors to search for inner meaning in their work. They made their southwest Michigan debut at the First Annual Harbor Country Music Festival in New Buffalo in 2009, and performed for the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestras Around Town Series in February 2010. They love southwest Michigan and are thrilled to have the opportunity to perform here again.
The NightBlue performers for Selections from Sweeney Todd include Chicago natives Joseph Smith (Sweeney Todd), Kelli Harrington (Mrs. Lovett), Jason Krumwiede (Anthony); and Joliet, IL native, Irene Patiño (Tobias).
The Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra's Casual Classics ~ Uncork and Unwind series is part of the Water's Edge Summer Music Series. All Casual Classics evenings include a light summer supper, wine from Tabor Hill Restaurant and Winery, and of course, music.
