Meadow Brook Theatre wraps up its golden anniversary season with "Forever Plaid" May 25 through June 19, 2016, on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester. "Forever Plaid" was written and originally directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross with music continuity supervision and arrangements by James Raitt. It was originally produced by Gene Wolsk.

Four guys who loved to sing - Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie - were on their way up as a musical group. They'd practiced in the basement of Smudge's family's plumbing supply company until they had all their moves and harmonies perfect. When they finally booked a gig, they knew they were going to be just like their idols The Four Freshmen, The Hi-Lo's and The Crew Cuts. Their future was bright. Then a bus accident lead to tragedy...but not for long. The moment their lives ended, the magical story of "Forever Plaid" began, and now it's your chance to enjoy the four-part harmony of songs like "No Not Much," "Cry," and "Heart and Soul" as they return from the great beyond, just for you!

"We tend to focus on Michigan premieres, but happily made an exception for 'Forever Plaid,'" says Travis W. Walter, MBT artistic director. "We know our audiences will love this magical story. The music is from a golden age, so it's a great way to end our season-long celebration of our 50th anniversary."

The four singers are played by Maclain Dassatti (Smudge), Lucas Wells (Sparky), Ben Garrett (Jinx) and Garett Michael Harris (Frances).

"Forever Plaid" is directed by Travis W. Walter with music direction by Matthew Croft. Terry Carpenter is the stage manager, with set design by Kristen Gribbin, costumes by Corey Collins, lighting by Matthew J. Fick and sound by Mike Duncan.

Matthew Croft also conducts the band and plays piano. Joining him are Andrew Lloyd on bass and Nick Matthews on percussion.

Tickets range from $27 to $42 and are available by calling the Meadow Brook Theatre box office at 248-377-3300 or going online at www.ticketmaster.com. Student discounts are available with student ID at the box office. Groups of eight or more should call 248-370-3316 for group pricing.
