Tickets are on sale now for Meadow Brook Theatre's 12th annual Children's Series, kicking off in February 2020.
"These shows are a great chance for families to come and experience a live show in an intimate setting that's close to home," says Cheryl Marshall, MBT managing director. "We love seeing the kids enjoying and interacting with what's going on onstage."
First is Rosie Revere, Engineer & Friends on Saturday February, 29, 2020 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. This Theatreworks USA Production is based on the books Rosie Revere, Engineer; Iggy Peck, Architect; and Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beaty, spotlighting the STEM curriculum while having musical fun kids of all ages will enjoy. Tickets are $15, $12 for groups of eight or more.
On Friday, March 6, 2020 at 10 a.m. Theatreworks USA presents Patrick Garner's History Alive - The Lewis and Clark Expedition: A Celebration of Teamwork and The Wright Brothers (and Sister!) Learn about two important chapters in American history while having fun. Great for kids in kindergarten and above. Tickets are $16.
Musician Guy Louis is back by popular demand for Guy Louis: The World of Music Tour on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. with an all-new show. Intended for music fans of all ages and encouraging audience participation, everyone will love this fast-passed, musical celebration. Tickets are $10, $8 for groups of eight or more.
The Theatreworks USA production of The Pout-Pout Fish on May 9, 2020 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. takes audiences swimming along with Mr. Fish and his friends in a musical adaptation of The New York Times bestseller. Kids in kindergarten and above will love seeing live actors and puppets join to create a magical, colorful world. Tickets are $15, $12 for groups of eight or more.
Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 1 p.m. join Zippity 2 Dads: All the World's a Stage. Join Tagg and Shawn, two dads with plenty of character, as they teach children of all ages the importance of making the right choices in their lives. Though adventure, drama, music and more, they cover six important character traits: Trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, caring, fairness and citizenship. Tickets are $10, $8 for groups of eight or more.
Ending the series is the Bright Star Touring Production of Storybook Tales: Pinocchio and Robin Hood on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 1 p.m. Learn lessons of responsibility and parental love as Pinocchio struggles to become real. Then travel to England with Maid Marian and the Sheriff of Nottingham as they encounter great capers with the outlaw, Robin Hood. Great for all ages. Tickets are $12, $9 for groups of eight or more.
