Last year's staged reading of Motherhood Out Loud was so popular that Matrix Theatre Company has brought it back for four performances over Mother's Day weekend. Performances for this limited engagement run are May 6 - 8, Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday at 3pm at Matrix Theatre located at 2730 Bagley in the heart of southwest Detroit.
Conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein, and written by Leslie Ayvazian, Brooke Berman, David Cale, Jessica Goldberg, Beth Henley, Lameece Issaq, Claire LaZebnik, Lisa Loomer, Michele Lowe, Marco Pennette, Theresa Rebeck, Luanne Rice, Annie Weisman, and Cheryl L. West, Motherhood Out Loud explores the personal truths of what it means to be a mother. Directed by respected local theatre professional Molly McMahon, this special Mother's Day production celebrates everything about being a parent and being parented! Moving and hilarious, this monologue play touches on the critical milestones of life - including birth, the first day of school, "the talk," the first date, the big day, and beyond. Described as joyously unpredictable and inherently honest, this show is the perfect way to indulge your mother, daughter, or closest friend. It's the perfect Mother's Day gift.
