Sponsored by the Michigan Equity Theatre Alliance (META), the META Golden Ticket is a special pass that is good for a pair of season tickets for the coming season to every play put on by all of the seven professional Equity theaters. In one year, the winners will be able to use one ticket to see 40 great shows - a $2,800 value.

The META Golden Ticket contest runs from Sept. 15, 2011 through Nov. 25, 2011. The contest is free and open to the public. To enter, visit the website METAtheatres.org/goldenticket.

"We want to give people a chance to experience theatre at its best," Carla Milarch, META board chairman and executive director of Performance Network Theatre, said. "The Golden Ticket is a passport to the complete seasons of seven of the finest professional companies in the region. They'll laugh. They'll cry. They'll think. Best of all, the winners get a chance to enjoy the unique marvel that is the professional stage, an exhilarating experience that sparks their imagination and refreshes their whole self - spirit, heart and mind."

META is comprised of seven award-winning professional theatre companies in Southeastern and Central Michigan: Detroit Repertory Theatre (Detroit), Jewish Ensemble Theatre (West Bloomfield), Meadow Brook Theatre (Rochester), Performance Network Theater (Ann Arbor), Plowshares Theatre Company (Detroit), Tipping Point Theatre (Northville) and Williamston Theatre (Williamston).

META is a not-for-profit organization created to promote professional theatre in southeast Michigan. The organization was formed through a partnership between the Cultural Alliance for Southeastern Michigan (CASM) and the Michigan Non-Profit Association (MNA), with financial support from the Kresge Foundation and the Ford Foundation.

All META members are professional theatre companies, producing under a contract with the Actors' Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers. With the best production values in Michigan, META theatres hire the finest artists to create and perform. Each theatre produces a unique season of plays for all tastes.

Members of the public are invited to learn more about META at www.METAtheatres.org. Providing visitors with complete details on seven of the region's top theatres in one place, the META website answers the question: "What's playing?"
