For this production, Kickshaw is partnering with various community organizations for whom the play resonates, including the Interfaith Center for Spiritual Growth, the Ann Arbor Storytellers Guild, and the Lamaze Family Center. Community partnerships are part of Kickshaw's mission of Connectivity, which is based on reciprocal relationships with community groups, businesses and non-profit organizations.
The Electric Baby is a dark and fantastical comedy about sad endings, strange beginnings and the unlikely people that get you from one place to the next.
Ambimbola is destined to win the lottery. Natalia is born with the gift of magic. Helen can't get over the loss of her daughter. Reed just wants to retire. Rozie is desperate to make a quick buck. Dan dies young, but is he really gone? Six lives collide after a tragic car accident, forcing each to confront the secrets, hopes and fears that consume them, and helping them to find love, strength and forgiveness through a mysterious baby that glows like the moon.
Directed by Kickshaw's artistic director and founder Lynn Lammers, the cast features Will Bryson, Peter Carey, Mary Dilworth, Julia Glander, Michael Lopetrone, and Vanessa Sawson.
The production will run January 28 through February 21, 2016 at the Interfaith Center for Spiritual Growth, located at 704 Airport Boulevard, Ann Arbor, MI 48108.
