Kickshaw Theatre presents The Ding Dongs, or What Is The Penalty In Portugal? a comedy thriller by Brenda Withers, March 28 through April 14, 2019, at trustArt Studios in Ann Arbor.

In The Ding Dongs, sweet-as-pie married couple Natalie and Joe show up unannounced on Redelmo's doorstep. They're strangers to him, but all they want is a look inside Joe's childhood home. There's nothing wrong with a little nostalgia, right? As the fast-talking pair banter and giggle, Redelmo can't help but wonder if there's something more going on. This brisk comedy will keep you laughing and guessing. All the while, bigger questions loom: who belongs inside the gate and who will be left on the outside?

"The Ding Dongs is about a hilariously fast-talking couple engaged in a thrilling game of cat-and-mouse with our protagonist, Redelmo. Are they con artists? Clowns? Or are they just well-meaning folks, like any of us, who want a simple and safe life with their three lovely children?" says Kickshaw found and Artistic Director Lynn Lammers. "The way this play drives toward its conclusion keeps you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait for audiences to see The Ding Dongs."

Lammers will also helm the production as director with a cast that includes Casaundra Freeman*, Dan Helmer, and Dan Johnson. Sarah Lucas* stage manages, with scenic design by Kirk Domer, properties design by Lynn Lammers, costume design by Camille Charara, lighting design by Paul Collins, and sound design by Aral Gribble.

The production is supported in part by a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Ding Dongs, or What Is The Penalty In Portugal? runs March 28 through April 14, 2019. Performances will be Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 4pm at trustArt Studios, 7885 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
