Broadway's Danny Gurwin will perform Broadway favorites with a Jewish theme with MIRACLE OF MIRACLES September 10. The performance will take place at Jewish Community Center's Handleman Hall in West Bloomfield, MI.

The 7:30pm concert will feature Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Tony nominee Erin Dilly, musical director David Sherline and an orchestra. All three musicians are natives of Detroit.

The upcoming event will be presented by The Stephen Gottlieb Jewish MusicFest, a new annual concert series dedicated to supporting and presenting Jewish music and artists.

Tickets are priced $20-$40 and can be purchased by calling (248) 432-5692.

As the Chicago Sun-Times wrote, "Gurwin gave a transcendent performance." But that's just one accolade among many more. TheatreMania.com hailed Danny - who has been performing on and off-Broadway for the last 11 years - for his "thrilling voice," Show Business Weekly praised his performance as "delightful," and United Press International called him, simply, "a star in the making."

Broadway musicals in which Danny has appeared include The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Full Monty, Little Women and Kismet. He also played a leading role in New York City Opera's A Little Night Music, which he later recreated at Los Angeles Opera, and appeared nationwide in productions mounted by such companies as the La Jolla Playhouse, the Geffen Playhouse, Sacramento Music Circus, O'Neill Theatre Center and the Muny Theater among many others. In addition, he has appeared as a guest artist with Chicago's Grant Park Symphony and the New Haven Symphony.

If Danny's photo looks familiar, it may be because he is in demand on television as well as on stage. Shows on which he has recently appeared include "Law and Order" and "Desperate Housewives."

Danny, who holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan, is equally comfortable in the classroom. As a guest artist, he has taught at UCLA, Western Michigan University, Youngstown University, the Las Vegas High School of Performing Arts, the Showchoir Camps of America, and is currently on the faculty of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy right here in Los Angeles.
