Friends of the Grosse Pointe Public Library Offer Two Used Book Sales
· January 30 - Half price books at Friends Down Under in the Grosse Pointe Woods Branch Library
· February 9-13 - Newly collected used books on sale at the Grosse Pointe Ewald Branch Library
The Friends of the Grosse Pointe Public Library are holding a Half-Price Book Sale on Saturday, January 30 at the Friends Down Under Book Store at the Woods Branch Library, Vernier at Mack Avenue , Grosse Pointe Woods . The sale will take place during regular Saturday store hours, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
Coming up is a Friends Used Book Sale at the Grosse Pointe Ewald Branch Library, 15175 E. Jefferson in Grosse Pointe Park. That sale runs from Tuesday, February 9 through Saturday, February 13.
On the first day of the Ewald Used Book Sale, Tuesday, February 9 from 6:00 p.m.. to 8:00 p.m., there will be an exclusive preview night for members of Friends of the Grosse Pointe Public Library.. Those interested in getting the greatest selection from the sale may join the Friends that evening at the book sale desk. An individual adult membership is $25 per year. Joanne Dennis, coordinator of the sale, reminds shoppers that, to everyone an equal chance at selecting books, no scanners will be allowed at the preview night until after 7:00 p.m.... Joanne Dennis notes that there are "unbelievable bargains" among the large collection available for sale.
The used book sale continues on Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday, February 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. and Saturday, February 13 from, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 13 has been designated "Bag Day" when shoppers may purchase a bag filled with books for $1.00.
The Friends of the Grosse Pointe Library invite all book lovers to join them, support the library and enjoy the benefits of membership, which include:
