Go Comedy! Improv Theater announces that it will host its monthly MARVIN night, Sunday June 28 where all tickets will be "pay what you can," making comedy accessible to employed and unemployed Detroiters forced to use MARVIN, the state's automated unemployment registration system.
Sunday nights kick off at 8:00pm with Soapbox Derby, an improvised show featuring local musicians, comedians and community leaders. Each week's guest presents stories, comic routines, or songs which the Go Comedy! cast uses to create on-the-spot scenes. Stagecrafters' Battle For The Mic contest winner Marc Meyers will appear as the special guest on Sunday, June 28.
The comedy continues at 9:00pm with Rock-o-Matic, the fully improvised rock opera. Pj Jacokes ( Ferndale ), Jaime Moyer ( Hamtramck ), and Matt Naas ( Ferndale ) use audience suggestions with the Rock-o-Matic band, Mikey Brown ( Ferndale ) and Ryan Parmenter ( Plymouth ), to create a one-time only rock opera. It's Detroit most unique and amazing improvised show.
Sunday nights round off with Elemenopy at 10:00pm featuring the seasoned improv powerhouse duo, Go Comedy! producers Pj Jacokes & Chris Diangelo (both of Ferndale ).
