The Flint Cultural Center Corporation announces Growing-Up Artfully 2009. In its sixth year, this unique fundraising event will take place Thursday, June 4th from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the home of Drs. Bobby and Nita Mukkamala located on 1810 Overhill Drive in Flint. Guests will enjoy a captivating evening and delight in international cuisine provided by Cameo Event Planners, as they stroll the lovely grounds that surround this beautiful home.
Tickets are available at the following levels: $100 individual, Patron $500 (includes four tickets) and Angel $1,000 (includes six tickets), Gold $2,500 (includes eight tickets). Proceeds from Growing Up Artfully 2009 support access to the arts, history, and sciences for underserved youth and families in Genesee County provided by the Flint Cultural Center Corporation and its member organizations - Longway Planetarium, Sloan Museum and The Whiting.
This includes:
- Free admission for low-income families to participate in various public programs at Longway Planetarium, Sloan Museum and The Whiting
- Free or subsidized admission to Sloan Museum, Longway Planetarium and The Whiting for student groups from schools with at-risk populations
- Subsidized bussing for school groups to attend Whiting performances
- Free or subsidized performances, workshops or talks provided at school sites or in the community by visiting artists, FCCC educators or community project participants
- Assistance with a scholarship for a local student to attend the Joffrey Midwest Dance Summer Intensive program.
The Flint Cultural Center Corporation (FCCC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering cultural activity and community vitality through history, science and the arts. In addition to maintaining the buildings and grounds, the FCCC operates and governs its member organizations: Longway Planetarium, Sloan Museum and The Whiting and coordinates campus-wide activities, programs and events.
