Full Casting Announced For Farmers Alley Theatre's DOUBT, A PARABLE Image

Farmers Alley Theatre will present the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning drama Doubt, a parable this February. Director D. Terry Williams (A Doll's House, Part 2) has assembled an amazing cast headlined by Dwandra Nickole Lampkin (The Christians, The Conviction of Lady Lorraine) as Sister Aloysius and Andy Hoff (TV's Mad Men, Criminal Minds) as Father Flynn. John Patrick Shanley's 90 minute one-act will run February 8-24 at Farmers Alley Theatre, right in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo.

Sister Aloysius (Dwandra Nickole Lampkin) is a rigidly conservative nun and principal at St. Nicholas Church School in the Bronx in the fall of 1964. When Father Flynn (Andy Hoff), a beloved and charismatic parish priest advocates reform of some of the school's strict customs, Sister Aloysius is put in direct conflict with his progressive outlook for the future. When a fellow nun tells Sister Aloysius that Father Flynn may be paying too much personal attention to one of their male students, she begins a personal crusade against the priest - despite her lack of evidence.

Timely as ever, Doubt, a parable is a searing and provocative work which raises important questions, and lets the audience come up with their own answers.

Doubt, a parable will be directed by D. Terry Williams, professor & chairman emeritus of Western Michigan University's Department of Theatre. His previous credits at Farmers Alley Theatre include Old Wicked Songs (Wilde Award), The Glass Menagerie (Wilde Award nomination), The Christians, and A Doll's House, Part 2.

Dwandra Nickole Lampkin (Sister Aloysius) is an Associate Professor of Theatre at WMU and thrilled to be returning to the Farmers Alley stage having previously appeared in The Christians, Clybourne Park and her one-woman show, The Conviction of Lady Lorraine. Some of her theatre credits include Matron Mama Morton in Chicago, Calpurnia in To Kill a Mockingbird, Mrs. Muller in Doubt and Aunt Ester in Gem of the Ocean. Her television credits include "Law & Order", "Third Watch", "Law & Order: SVU", and the critically acclaimed ABC series "Wonderland".

Andy Hoff (Father Flynn), aside from being a gifted stage actor and co-founder of NYC's Brokenwatch Theatre Company, has a long list of impressive TV credits including "Mad Men", "How I Met Your Mother", "Justified", "Criminal Minds", "NCIS", "Lethal Weapon" and more. He recently starred in Dead Women Walking which premiered at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. He will be making his Farmers Alley Theatre debut.

Julianne Howe-Bouwens (Mrs. Muller) is a professional stage and screen actress who has performed nationally and internationally. Favorite stage credits include The Wiz (Hangar Theatre), Doubt (Hope Summer Rep), ArtReach (Children's Theatre of Cincinnati), Avenue Q (GRCT), Dreamgirls (GRCT), RENT (GVSU) and her one-woman show Black Mona Lisa. Film credits include Saugatuck Cures, The Steam Experiment, State of Modern Love, and Accidental Exorcist.

Tamsen Glaser (Sister James) is a Chicago-based actor whose credits include work at Victory Gardens Theater and Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and Seattle credits include Seattle Repertory Theatre and ACT: A Contemporary Theater. She recently moved back to the Midwest after graduating with her MFA from the University of Washington School of Drama's Professional Actor Training Program. She earned her BFA in Acting and her BA in Music: Vocal Performance from Western Michigan University.

Doubt, a parable runs February 8-24 at 221 Farmers Alley. Tickets are $32 on Fri/Sat/Sun and $27 on Thursdays. $2 off for Seniors age 65 and above. Student tickets are $15. Ticket reservations can be made by calling our Box Office at (269) 343-2727 or visiting www.farmersalleytheatre.com.
