"Feet for Seats" 5K Fun Run/Walk to Benefit Meadow Brook Theatre, 8/22

Meadow Brook Theatre (MBT) is excited to announce its 2nd annual "Feet for Seats," a 5K fun run/walk on the campus of Oakland University. This fundraising event has been planned to raise awareness for the professional theatre, which has been located on OU's campus since 1966. "We put on exciting shows," says managing director Cheryl Marshall, "but in these tough economic times we need to rally around our local arts organizations and raise funds as well as awareness."

The event will take place on Sunday, August 22, 2010. Check-in begins at 8:00 am at MBT with the 5K run/walk to start at 9:00 am. After the event, participants will be treated to a special performance by Jill Jack in front of the theatre as well as performances by The Peanut Gallery Players and many other fun surprises. As a special bonus, participants will be able to purchase individual tickets to MBT's upcoming season immediately following the walk. Single tickets won't go on sale to the general public until September 20, 2010 so participants will be getting priority seating. Meadow Brook Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and as such relies on the support of individuals in the community to continue producing Broadway quality shows at an affordable price.

Season tickets are currently available by calling the Meadow Brook Theatre box office at 248-377-3300. Tickets range from $105 - $167 per seat for the five-play season. A special 20% discount is available for "A Christmas Carol" for advance ticket purchases for the 2010-2011 season.

Single tickets go on sale Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets range from $24 - $39 for individual plays.
