The comedy about Seymour Krelborn and his man-eating plant is directed by Rachael Rose and sponsored by Tarnow Doors. “My overall vision for the show is to bring back the creepy from the original movie into the campy of the musical,” says Rose. “I really have no ‘character types’ in mind beyond what I have described below. I don’t have a certain age or look in my mind, so everyone that wants to audition SHOULD!”

Actors are expected to be prepared with all pieces of the music for each of the characters for which they intend to audition.

Additionally, there are some pieces that are ensemble pieces (like Skid Row) and singing these pieces all together will be a requirement. Audition musical cuts are available at www.farmingtonplayers.org. Script cuts will be available soon as well.

The Farmington Players Barn is located at 32332 W. Twelve Mile Road in Farmington Hills. It’s the big white barn on the north side of Twelve Mile between Orchard Lake and Farmington.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is a rock musical, by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, about a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman. The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, "Skid Row (Downtown)," "Somewhere That's Green," and "Suddenly, Seymour."
