The North American tour of WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, welcomes a new Elphaba starting tomorrow, November 5th at The Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis. The role of The Wicked Witch will be played by Donna Vivino. Katie Rose Clarke continues as Glinda (the Good Witch), as does Myra Lucretia Taylor as Madame Morrible and Lenny Wolpe as The Wizard.
Donna Vivino became a proud member of Actors' Equity at age 8 playing Young Cosette in the original Broadway cast of Les Miserables. Donna also originated the role of Enid Hoopes in the pre-Broadway workshop of Legally Blonde. Most recently, she was the Elphaba standby on the tour.
Katie Rose Clarke has been playing Glinda in the North American tour of WICKED since November 2007. Prior to that, she portrayed the role of Clara Johnson in the Broadway production, live PBS broadcast and national tour of The Light in the Piazza. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.
