The Michigan Premiere of Fengar Gael's dark comedy DEVIL DOG SIX will have a Champagne Celebration on Thursday, March 24 at the Detroit Repertory Theatre at 8:30 PM. Opening Nights at the Rep are always full of camaraderie and celebration. This one will be no different. Guests are invited to join in a Champagne toast in the elegant lobby gallery of the Theatre after the show with the cast, crew and playwright who is flying in for this special occasion of the premiere of her play. Tickets are still the lowest for professional theatre in the region at $17 advance or $20 day of performance, and may be purchased by calling (313) 868-1347. DEVIL DOG SIX will run Thursdays through Sundays until May 15, 2016. More information may be found at www.detroitrepetheatre.com.

Set in the competitive world of thoroughbred racing, DEVIL DOG SIX is a dark comedy of obsession and betrayal. Devon Tramore, a good young jockey on her way to becoming great, lies in a hospital room with a serious brain injury following a racing pileup. The circumstances of the accident are suspicious. An investigation reveals jockey sexual harassment and racehorse owner sexism. The story veers from a traditional sports tale when during Devon's hospitalization she masters the art of leaving her body. Her new abilities give her a supernatural connection with the star horse, "Devil Dog Six". All the actors double as horses, jockeys and various characters in a breathtaking run for woman power and racial tolerance.

DEVIL DOG SIX is directed by Resident Company Member, Leah Smith (DETROIT). Last season Leah won the Subscriber Best Director/Best Play Award for her direction of KISS OF THE SUN FOR PARDON.

Her cast for DEVIL DOG SIX consists of three Rep veterans and three newcomers. Jeffry Chastang (WAYNE) performed the Voice in this season's first play, HERB THE GREEN KNIGHT. Four seasons ago Madelyn Porter (HAMTRAMCK) performed Cassaundra in the Rep production BURYING THE BONES. Two seasons ago Wayne David Parker (DEARBORN) played the role of Hutchings in the Rep production BUZZ. Newcomers to the Rep stage include Jaclynn Cherry (MADISON HEIGHTS), PJ Jenkinson (WESTLAND) and Matt Hollerbach (DETROIT).

DEVIL DOG SIX opens March 24 and runs every Thursday through Sunday (except Easter) until May 15, 2016.
