The Champagne Opening of the World Premiere of POSTCARDS by William Costanza will be Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 8:30 PM at the Detroit Repertory Theatre. A Champagne Afterglow with the cast, crew and the playwright, who is flying in for his premiere, will follow this haunting love story and historical and timely reminder of our racist past. Tickets are $17 in advance, $20 day of performance, the same price as all regular performances. Reservations may be made by calling the Box Office at (313) 868-1347, and more information may be found at www.detroitreptheatre.com.

The play follows a photographer, Alvin Moseby from Shiloh, Tennessee in the 1930's to New York City in the 1950's. Once a photographer of despicable acts in the name of work during the depression, in New York City he finds his true artistic calling taking pictures of legendary jazz musicians, and also meets the love of his life. But, the infamous box of pictures from his past follows his every step and haunts his every move.

POSTCARDS is directed by Rep founder Barbara Busby. Ms. Busby has assembled a cast of newcomers to the stage as well as veterans of theatre in Michigan. Dax Anderson (HAMTRAMCK) is Alvin, Casaundra Freeman (DETROIT) is Hattie. The rest of the cast includes Kelly Komlen (DEARBORN), Jacquie Floyd (TROY) and Michael Force (FERNDALE). The playwright, William Costanza (WASHINGTON D.C.) has had numerous plays produced across the Country and is a screenwriter as well.

POSTCARDS opens January 10 and runs every Thursday through Sunday until March 17, 2013. On Saturday Evening, February 9, 2013 there will be the Annual Board of Trustees RED NIGHT fundraiser. Tickets prices for that event are $35. Regular Showtimes are Thursdays and Fridays at 8:30 PM, Saturdays at 3 PM and 8:30 PM, Sundays at 2 PM and 7:30 PM. All other tickets, fundraisers, Subscriptions, and Bargain Booklets will remain the most affordable for professional theatre in the region. General admission is $17 per ticket in advance and $20 day of performance. The Rep's "Anytime, Multi-Use" Gold Subscription is the unmatched price of $100 and a Silver Subscription stays at $50. 10 Ticket Bargain Booklets, Regular and Matinee are $110 and $100 respectively.

For tickets, fundraising bookings, and information, call or visit the Box Office (313) 868-1347.
