Detroit Dance Artists to Perform at Oakland University, 1/21-23

At 7:30 pm on Thursday, January 21, dance lovers can enjoy the first of four performances of the Detroit Dance Artists Showcase in Varner Lab Theatre. The concert will feature Oakland University dancers and rising choreographers from professional companies Take Root, Eisenhower Dance, Kristi Faulkner Dance, Pure Existence and Art Lab J.

Other performances are at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 22; and 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 23.

The OU Dance Program provides innovative, high-standard training and elite opportunities which prepare students to transition to dance professionals. Recent alumni are working around the country, including in New York, California, Chicago and Texas.

The DDA performances are in Varner Lab Theatre, which is located on the Oakland University campus. Maps of the campus are available at oakland.edu/map or by searching for "Varner Hall" on a smartphone. Ample free parking will be available.

Tickets for the concert are $8 and may be purchased online without service fees at startickets.com or by phone at (800) 585-3737. They can also be purchased at the Varner Box Office on OU's campus. Tickets ordered online or by phone can be picked up at the box office one hour before the performance begins.
