Open Book Theatre Company is excited to present the romantic comedy Dead Man's Cell Phone by Sarah Ruhl. The play will open November 6 and run for 3 weekends, closing November 21.
The play is a fantastical romp that examines whether we are ever truly connected in a world where we never disconnect. It begins in a café, where the ringing of a cell phone at the next table irritates Jean. Annoyed that the man isn't answering his phone, Jean picks it up herself, only to discover that the man is dead. Jean begins answering all the incoming calls, meeting up with the dead man's family and associates and becoming hysterically entangled as she tries to untangle the puzzle of the dead man's life.
The show features Melissa Beckwith, Dani Cochrane, Connie Cowper, Ryan Ernst, Richard Payton, and Kaitlyn Valor. Open Book Associate Director Topher Alan Payne is directing, and Harley Miah is designing the lights.
