The Dio - Dining & Entertainment, Livingston County's professional, award winning dinner theatre, is very excited to present the Kander and Ebb musical classic, Cabaret, directed by Steve DeBruyne, with musical direction by BrIan Rose and choreography by Michelle Marzejon.

It's 1930s, Berlin. The Emcee, Sally Bowles and a raucous ensemble take the stage at the Kit Kat Klub nightly to tantalize the crowd. But as life in pre-WWII Germany grows more and more uncertain, the club, a metaphor for the threatening state of Nazi dominated Germany, begins to fall apart. Featuring some of musical theater's most recognizable tunes, including "Maybe This Time", "Wilkommen", and "Don't Tell Mama", Cabaret will take you back in time. In the words of our emcee, "Leave your troubles outside."

All tickets include The Dio's dinner buffet, a non-alcoholic beverage, dessert and the show. The menu for Cabaret will include fresh, homemade bread sticks topped with melted butter and garlic, crisp garden salad with choice of dressing, brussel sprouts tossed in garlic butter and sautéed in oil, diced potatoes boiled and tossed in butter and herbs, broiled Polish sausage served over a bed of sauerkraut, and The Dio's signature boneless chicken breast, hand battered and fried to a golden brown, plus dessert served during intermission.

Cabaret features performances by Lydia Adams, Katie Lietz Bailey, McKara Bechler, Brian E Buckner (Wilde Award winner), Peter Crist, Steve DeBruyne (Wilde Award winner), Dale Dobson, James Fischer, Olive Hayden-Moore, Elizabeth Jaffe, Victor McDermott, Nick Pettengill, Jared Schneider (Wilde Award nominee), and Natalie Rose Sevick.

Performances take place at The Dio, 177 E. Main Street, Pinckney Michigan, 48169 from September 23 through October 30, Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. There will be one Thursday evening performance on September 22 and one Thursday matinee on October 27.

Please note that Cabaret contains adult content including strong language, sexuality and subject matter, and is intended for mature audiences only.

Tickets for all performances are available now and may be purchased by visiting diotheatre.com or by calling (517) 672-6009. Seating is limited and certain performances are already sold out, so consider making your reservations well in advance.
