CHAPTER TWO Opens March 22nd At St. Dunstan's Theatre Image

St. Dunstan's Theatre presents Neil Simon's 1978 Tony Award winning play, Chapter Two. Love always deserves another chapter. In Chapter Two, George Schneider, a writer deeply saddened by the death of his wife of 12 years, is urged by his brother Leo to start dating again. Leo arranges some blind dates that are disasters. But then Leo comes up with Jennie Malone, an actress recently divorced after five years of marriage counseling. George and Jennie fall in love and marry after dating for all of two weeks! This romantic comedy examines what it means to truly love someone else, and asks whether finding a soul mate can happen more than once in a lifetime. Whimsical, touching, and always funny.

This production is directed by Paul Dorset (Birmingham), and features Jason Dilly (Franklin) as George, Deb Dworkin (Berkley) as Jennie, Kori Bielaniec (Westland) as Faye, and Dan Smith (Detroit) as Leo. Dorset is a familiar face around St. Dunstan's and has even served as President of the Guild, however, this is his first time stepping into the Director's Chair. "This is one of Neil Simon's less heralded shows, but I feel it's easily one of his best. For a show written over 40 years ago, the themes of love and loss touched on throughout it are timeless," says Dorset. "It has been a pleasure working with such a talented cast and crew, and they've all made it an easy transition into directing for the first time."

This show has a lot of talent working behind the scenes with Scott MacDonald serving as Assistant Director, Molly Dorset as Producer, Obie Burch as set designer, Janie Minchella as costume designer, Pam Richards heading up properties, Chuck Goddeeris as sound engineer, and Anthony Marsalese consulting on hair and makeup.

St. Dunstan's will present Chapter Two on March 22, 23, 29, 30, 31 and April 5, 6, 7. All shows begin at 8:00 p.m, except for the Sunday performances on the 31st and 7th which begin at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 each for adults and $18 each for students and seniors. St. Dunstan's is located at 400 Lone Pine Road in Bloomfield Hills.
