Artistic Director James Ingagiola and Executive Director Isaac Ellis are pleased to announce The Brass Tacks Ensemble's first educational session, "Brass Tacks 101," will be held Saturday, July 25th.

What sets a Brass Tacks Ensemble production apart? How does a Brass Tacks program get that "Brass Tacks" look? What is that "'Brass Tacks' look"? Join us as we help you make your productions, programs, proposals, and workshops true Brass Tacks projects. After this session, you will:

· Have a better understanding of the Brass Tacks Ensemble's Mission Statement & Principles.

· Be able to craft a vision for your own Brass Tacks Ensemble project.

· Learn some tips for tackling obstacles and getting more out of less.

· Give your project the Brass Tacks look and feel.

Brass Tacks Ensemble's first session is Saturday, July 25, 2015, 3-6 pm at Mechanical Simulations (755 Phoenix Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108). While the class is designed for all sorts of projects, this first session will be geared slightly toward directors who are proposing for the 2016 season. Therefore, slots will be reserved first for those proposing directors, and remaining slots will be opened up on a first-come, first-served basis. (If there are a large number of interested students, we may open up another class in the following month.)

To sign up for the class, please send email to: thebrasstacksensemble@gmail.com.

Since 1999, with their inaugural production of King Lear, The Brass Tacks Ensemble has been dedicated to producing shows that strip away the excess and focus on the essentials of theater: Actor. Text. Audience. The Brass Tacks Ensemble is devoted to connecting to the audience through the essential elements of theater to spark the imagination; presenting established and original works with a focus on clarity, universality, and entertainment; and providing actors, directors, designers, and writers the opportunity to develop as artists.
