ANNIE Comes To Stagecrafters ImageStagecrafters proudly presents the musical Annie, May 11 through June 3, on Main Stage at the Baldwin Theatre, 415 S. Lafayette Avenue, in downtown Royal Oak.

This beloved musical features the lovable Little Orphan Annie of comic strip fame, as she steals the hearts of a billionaire, a president and a country in her quest to find her parents. Filled with iconic characters like the evil Miss Hannigan, the rich and unfulfilled Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks, and the scheming Rooster and Lily, Annie reminds us that regardless of how bad things sometimes seem, "the sun will come out tomorrow!"

Annie is played by twelve-year-old Sophie Lavallee, who is no stranger to Stagecrafters. She has been involved with various Stagecrafters Youth Theatre productions and is sure to dazzle the audience with her incredible vocal talent. Lavallee talks about the rehearsal process and credits the cast and production staff for creating a fun atmosphere. In addition, Lavallee has learned some valuable takeaways while playing Annie. "This role teaches me to always have hope, even in tough times just like Annie who always thinks on the bright side, never gives up on what she wants, and is always optimistic" she says.

One of the many elements of this production is the original music score. Annie has won numerous Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical. Audience members of all ages will enjoy singing along to the songs in the production, including "Hard Knock Life" and "Tomorrow." "Annie has many familiar songs, a script full of hilarious moments, and high-energy dance numbers. But it's even more than that-Annie is a musical comedy with heart," says Music Director Michael Smith.
