The 2015 Detroit Fringe Theatre Festival is proud to announce its Festival lineup which includes 20 performances of 10 minute plays, full-length plays & musicals, and staged readings over the course of four days. The festival will highlight the work of over 50 Michigan artists and more than 15 Michigan writers with 7 out of state guests.

A particular emphasis of the mission statement for this year's Fringe is to further artistic opportunities for all artists involved. Last year, all of the actors involved were offered another role through various festivals, shows, and performance events and many of the directors have since directed other shows for various theatres and local festivals. The playwrights have also seen an increase in their visibility. One particular partnership to highlight was last year's winning director-playwright pair Karen Brehmer and Paige Vanzo who return as a collaborative team to produce the premiere of Vanzo's newest play Magic which will open the festival.

"We're excited for Michigan writers and performers to connect and network with the out of state guests and vice versa so that all of our artists are able to create mutually beneficial experiences in which Michigan artists may be able to visit and perform in other states and our guests are able to learn about the vibrant and thriving arts scene in Detroit," says the festival's co-producer Emilio Rodriguez.

The festival hopes to continue to develop these artistic relationships that will further serve many of the other wonderful festivals in the area including but not limited to BoxFest, The Two Muses Women's Play Fest, and Theatre Nova's Michigan Playwright's Festival. This year's festival features African Renaissance Theatre Artistic Director Oliver Pookrum and Dramatically Richer Productions Artistic Director Kennikki Jones-Jones as writers, directors, and Fringe Advisory Board Members.

This year's festival will be held at CMAP Theatre: 2221 Carpenter Street, Detroit, MI. Free Street Parking available.
