This black comedy takes place in 1965, the day Pope Paul VI visited NYC. It features a zookeeper dreaming of making it big in Hollywood as a songwriter, and his wife Bananas, (a schizophrenic destined for the institution that provides the play's title,) nuns, a political bombing, and a GI headed for Vietnam.
