RENT: DOWNTOWN LA takes place in a warehouse in industrial downtown Los Angeles, where an artistic renaissance is underway in the vein of 1990s Alphabet City.
The musical numbers will be the same, but we're adding our own special West Coast touch to everything else: beverages will be served to the audience in brown paper bags, local L.A. musicians will provide the live score and when you walk into this warehouse, you will be inside and living the RENT experience.
Set in the East Village of New York’s Alphabet City, RENT is about being young and learning to survive, falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. A theatrical experience unlike any other, RENT forever changed the Broadway landscape, and continues to inspire with its powerful ideas, timeless emotions, and captivating rock score.
