The final of Four Classical Sundays at Five in The Aventura Cultural Series presents a duo performance featuring violist Michael Klotz and pianist Kemal Gekic, performing works by Bach, Bloch, Prokofieff, & Rachmaninoff.
"Gekic rides the charismatic edge of genius," says The Boston Globe about the pianist whose artistic credo encompasses both knowledge of all the facts essential to reconstructing the musical idea behind the works he plays and the power to bring it alive for today's audiences.
As a recording artist, Kemal Gekic pianist has won accolades in Europe, America and Japan for insightful, original and sometimes iconoclastic views of the music of Handel, Mozart, Chopin, Scriabin and Liszt - a list that grows with every season.
Violist Michael Klotz is associated with the New York String Orchestra Seminar at Carnegie Hall. He made his solo debut with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of seventeen. He has also appeared with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Penfield Symphony Orchestra, Mannes Bach Festival Orchestra, and the World Youth Music Festival Orchestra in London, England.
This is the final event in the intimate salon style series. Purchase your tickets now for this amazing closing performance in the series on Sunday, April 21, 2013.
