A world premiere, a company premiere and a collaboration with street artist Shepard Fairey become part of the Miami City Ballet's 29th season. Three pieces that celebrate the joy of choreography, movement and expression will take us through pieces by Balanchine, Chopin and Mantinu that display the dexterity and the heart of the company.
The first of the three shorts is Raymanda Variations, an eloquent piece from Balanchine that is full of the happiness of dance.
Second up is The Concert (Or, the perils of Everybody) set to a score by Chopin, demonstrating an insight into the joy of human interaction.
Finally, we see the company and world preimere of Miami City Ballet's principal and choreographer Josh Peck. Along with internationally acclaimed street artist Shepard Fairey, this unlikely duo have shaped a ballet that explores the scene of guerilla street art and marries it with ballet as an art form. Not to be missed!
