Faith Healer at A.C.T. Studio Theatre

After a 19-month hiatus due to COVID, A.C.T. Studio Theatre is pleased to reopen with an exciting lineup of shows for the 21 22 Season. A.C.T. Studio Theatre is the premier black box theater on the Treasure Coast bringing thought-provoking live performances in an intimate setting. From comedies to dramas to musicals, upcoming shows include Steel Magnolias; A Christmas Carol - Live Radio Play; award-winning Elvis tribute artist Matt Stone; the hilarious Til Death Do Us Part You First! directed by Academy-award nominee Chazz Palminteri; Buyer & Cellar a comic fantasy inspired by Barbra Streisands design book; Mayday, the story of the 1980 Tampa Bay Skyway Bridge collapse; and Broadways The Importance of Being Earnest, Orphans and Dearly Departed. Opening the season on Nov. 5 is Brian Friels Faith Healer, a story told with the richness of prose weve come to expect from Mr. Friel, the profound and poetic Irish dramatist whose works have been compared to those of Arthur Miller and Tennessee Williams. Throughout the remote and forgotten corners of the British Isles, faith healer Frank Hardy offers the promise of redemption to the sick and the suffering. But his is an unreliable gift, a dangerous calling. The compelling events delivered masterfully through competing monologues reveal the elusiveness of reality, fragility of memory and the necessity of stories as a means of survival. The 2006 Broadway Revival was recipient of four Tony nominations.
