The South Florida Symphony presents "A Summons to Life." Music director Sebrina María Alfonso will conduct the orchestra in a program that includes Mozart, Ellen Zwilich, and Schumann.
The program will open with Mozart's Symphony No. 35 in D major. Considered one of his masterpieces, it was commissioned by a prominent family from Salzburg to celebrate Sigmund Haffner's ennoblement. Finished in 1782, it started as a serenade, yet, amazed at its quality, Mozart converted it into a symphony.
