Ground Up & Rising announced the first play of their 2006 – 2007 theater season, September 10th. This original play written by Arturo Fernandez, Ground Up & Rising's Artistic Director, opens on September 15th and runs until October 1st. The production will be staged at the Performing Arts Network (PAN) space in North Miami at 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 PM and 7 PM on Sundays. In September 10th, complete strangers, co-workers, friends, lovers and sworn enemies fatefully cross paths under the shadow of what promises to be just another Tuesday morning in the city of hustle. Directed by Arturo Fernandez, September 10th features Carbonell-winner Rio Chavarro, Carbonell-nominee Sheaun McKinney, Bechir Sylvain, Arnaldo Carmouze, Angie Sardinia, Jose Paredes and Heather Gallagher. September 10th is the first production in Ground Up & Rising's annual Workshop 2 Product Program, created to give local playwrights the opportunity to have their work fully produced by a professional theatre company at no cost to the author. Workshop 2 Product is a comprehensive 8-week program in two phases: The Workshop Phase and the Product Phase. In the Workshop Phase, a new play is evaluated, rehearsed, and made ready for The Product Phase, in which a professional production of the rehearsed work is performed in front of an audience over a 2 – 4 week period.
