Dramaworks Theatre Week

An unprecedented week of free theatre events and gala performances in celebration of Palm Beach Dramaworks' new theatre on Clematis Street

Gala Opening Night 11/11/11 

To celebrate the opening of Palm Beach Dramaworks' new facility, the Don & Ann Brown Theatre, West Palm Beach's Mayor Jeri Muoio will declare November 7th - 13th Dramaworks Theatre Week. An unprecedented week of free theatre events and gala performances are scheduled at Palm Beach Dramaworks' new facility located in the heart of West Palm Beach (201 Clematis Street) beginning with the official ribbon cutting on Monday, November 7th (9AM). 

Dramaworks Theatre Week will bring theatre lovers and arts professionals together for a blending of special performances and unique "glimpses behind the scenes" of West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre. Participants will get the chance to tour Dramaworks' new home and take part in special post show discussions, as well as the opportunity to meet members of the cast from Arthur Miller's All My Sons.

To kick off the celebratory week, West Palm Beach Mayor Muoio will make the official proclamation on Monday, October 31st at 5pm at City Hall. On Monday, November 7th the week-long schedule officially opens with a gala ribbon cutting ceremony (9AM) followed by FREE tours of the new theatre complex. On Tuesday, November 8th, Dramaworks celebrates the members of the South Florida acting and artistic community by offering them a FREE performances (8PM) of All My Sons. On Wednesday, November 9th (8PM) Dramaworks celebrates again saluting the West Palm Beach City employees and members of the Economic Forum by offering them a FREE performance of All My Sons. --- *call box office for details - tickets are on a first come, first serve basis for the Nov. 8 & 9 performances*. Thursday, November 10th brings a FREE Student Matinee of All My Sons (10:30AM) and "Dramaworkshop" --- a rare inside look at the new scene shop with a FREE open house 10 to 12 noon (914 Fern Street). The Grand Opening Night for the Don & Ann Brown Theatre follows on November 11th (by invitation only) and the official Opening Night curtain will rise on Arthur Miller's All My Sons November 12th 8PM. The special week concludes with a FREE post performance discussion centered on Arthur Miller plus a meet & greet with the cast of All My Sons November 13th (4:30) in the lobby of the new theatre.

The season will continue with a distinguished roster of plays including "The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds" by Paul Zindel (January 6 - January 29), "The Pitmen Painters" by Lee Hall (February 17 - March 11), "'Master Harold'...and the boys" by Athol Fugard (April 6 - April 29) and "Proof" by David Auburn (May 25 - June 17). 

Palm Beach Dramaworks is a non-profit, professional theatre and is a member of the Theatre Communications Group, the South Florida Theatre League, Southeastern Theatre Conference, Florida Professional Theatres Association, Florida Theatre Conference, and the Palm Beach County Cultural Council.
