"Vanities"

AT THE ATLANTIC THEATER IN JUPITER

THEATRICAL COMEDY PLAYS FEB 27 - MARCH 8

The Atlantic Theater presents "Vanities," a comedic play that follows three Texas women from college to adulthood. The play takes place February 27th through March 8th with Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 3pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm and 6pm.

"Vanities" begins in the early 1960's - Joanne, Kathy and Mary are vivacious cheerleaders. Five years later, in their college sorority house, they confront their futures with nervous jauntiness. When they reunite briefly in New York in 1974, their lives have diverged and old-time banter rings false. This snapshot-sharp chronicle of the lives of three small town Texas girls is both a bittersweet comedy and a testament to the way many of us grew up. Jack Heifner's play captures the spirit of a bygone era as well as the eternal complexities of friendship.

This is the second theatrical production for the Atlantic Theater's 2008-09 season. Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" was presented in December of 2008. "Vanities" was written by Jack Heifner and will be directed by Sara Premisler. The cast features Lauren Pottinger as Kathy, Jaime Libbert as Mary and Allison Huntley as Joann. Ticket prices are $20 if ordered in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets can be ordered by calling the Atlantic Theater box office at 561-575-4942 or by going to www.theatlantictheater.com.
