Pierre DØrge and the New Jungle Orchestra
A part of the Carnival Center – Chivas Regal Jazz Series
What do cutting-edge jazz, a bit of Bollywood, down-home blues, world music rhythms, and "Cheek to Cheek" have in common?: The unconditional love of Danish guitarist Pierre Dørge and his 10-piece ensemble of musicians gathered from the hippest clubs in Copenhagen. With verve, inspired playing and a healthy sense of the absurd, Dørge and company create their own, very entrancing world of jazz.

Dino Saluzzi, bandoneon,
with Anja Lechner, cello
Ojos Negros
Boundaries in art are made to be broken and bandoneon player Dino Saluzzi and cellist Anja Lechner do just that—brilliantly: between composition and improvisation, between folk music and jazz and tango, between concert and cabaret. With Piazzola smiling from above, these two famed ECM stars (he from Buenos Aires, she from Munich) invite you to hear their latest CD performed live. An intimate evening of music that is warm and longing, meltingly beautiful, soul-stirring in a way only the tango—traditional or Nuevo— can be.
