Urinetown - The Musical
October 6-23, 2016
$23-$38
Dinner & A Show - October 6 at Paradiso, $72
Winner of three Tony Awards this hilariously funny and touchingly honest musical written by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis is a satire of the legal system and a love letter to musical theatre itself! Urinetown provides a fresh perspective of one of America's greatest art forms. In a Gotham like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought has led to a ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom.
REASONS TO BE PRETTY by Neil LaBute

Unfortunately, he also thinks she has a few physical imperfections, and when he casually mentions them, all hell breaks loose. A hopelessly romantic drama about the hopelessness of romance.

What happens when you mix the brilliant wit of Noel Coward with the intricate plotting of Agatha Christie? Set during a weekend in an English country manor in 1932, Death by Design is a delightful and mysterious "mash-up" of two of the greatest English writers of all time. Edward Bennett, a playwright, and his wife Sorel Bennett, an actress, flee London and head to Cookham after a disastrous opening night. But various guests arrive unexpectedly - a conservative politician, a fiery socialist, a nearsighted ingenue, a zany modern dancer - each with a long-held secret. When one of the guests is murdered, it's left to Bridgit, the feisty Irish maid with a macabre interest in homicide, to solve the crime. Death by Design is more than homage - it's a new classic.
