Tribute Band Draws Journey Fans to Lake Worth Playhouse

Lake Worth Playhouse & W4CY present Tribute to Journey: Odyssey Road
with opening performance by Andrew Bayuk

The Lake Worth Playhouse, together with W4CY Internet Radio, will host a special live music concert performance, Tribute to Journey - Odyssey Road, on Friday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. with an opening performance by Andrew Bayuk. The concert takes place at Lake Worth Playhouse, 713 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth.

Achieving local notoriety as the winners of the South Florida Fair 2010 Tribute Band Contest, Odyssey Road is a band that was formed with the sole intention of performing the greatest hit songs ever recorded by the popular American band, Journey. Odyssey Road foregoes the look-alike attempts of other tribute bands, keeping their focus on presenting the material "with the feel and energy" of the original band they are honoring, which is what makes them so popular with Journey fans and music fans in general.

The five-member band includes Philly native, Mike Soper on keyboards and vocals, Paul "Paulie G" Granato on guitar and vocals, Floridian Brian Lutz on drums and vocals, New Yorker Robert "Bobby G" Gugliuzza on bass and vocals and Memphis native James "Bubba" Sanderford on vocals.

The concert will open with a special pre-show performance by Andrew Bayuk. With an original style described as "a funky blend of folk-rock," Andrew Bayuk's music has an acoustic folk backbone that is laced with harmony vocals. His style is heavily influenced by the Beatles, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.

Tickets are $22 and can be purchased by contacting the Lake Worth Playhouse Box Office at 561-586-6410. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.lakeworthplayhouse.org. Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card are accepted. To enhance the concert experience, The Playhouse concession stand is now selling beer and wine in addition to soft drinks and snacks.
